When I worked in the South End, I used to get my hair cut at State Street Barbers. For the first few months I'd walk in to the handsome wood-paneled room, take a chair, and a glass of scotch would appear as my Chechen barber went to work, regaling me with suitably hair-raising tales of the old country. Sinatra was usually on the stereo. It felt like entering another world, one where minor transgressions were coolly overlooked instead of being immediately stamped out in a Puritan tantrum. Then one day I walked in and they handed me a ginger ale.

My primary concern of legalizing gay marriage would be the domino effect it would have on other traditions. I don't see a single benefit of having homosexual parents adopting a bastard created from artificial insemination. Children these days already are riddled with psychological problems, do you really think having two "Daddies" or "Mommies" will create a suitable environment for these adopted children to prosper?

Of course “safety advocates” are alarmed. That's their natural state.
Ah, who doesn't love a good burst of faddish libertarianism? Anyway, Perry flip-flopped on the statement shortly after, telling a radio host "gay marriage is not fine with me” (empty moralizing boasting an addiction rate greater than crack). But what do you expect from a guy who loves his country so much he feels compelled to routinely threaten to secede from it? Love it or leave it, Texas! As for you, Rick Perry, get your act together. You look like the star of a goddamn 1980s shampoo commercial. Jesus Christ.

Not only her nickname and blog name "skepchick" but also some of the items on the blog. Her "Skepchick Quickies," for example. It's all sexually charged.

She is also marketing a "Hug Me I'm Vaccinated" campaign for the TAM conference where strangers will attempt to hug people who have been vaccinated. There is apparently no concern for those who might feel "uncomfortable" at being offered hugs - close physical contact - with strangers. http://skepchick.org/2011/06/hug-me-at-tam/
